The world is full of dietary myths. Weight loss and diet can be dangerous and extraordinary at best times. With rumors and a mythical Diet that is thrown at you from all directions, it is difficult to get an understanding of what is real and what crap loads. This can harm those who are trying to embark on a fitness journey as it can cause feeling overwhelmed and develop disturbing relationships with food. Fortunately for you, I'm here to bust the myth of the Diet and tell you once and for all what the facts are and what is fiction.

1. Do not eat after 8 PM


Weight loss is mainly based on calorie intake and health based on the nutritional value of foods you eat. Simply put, eat naturally, Whole foods and not eat ridiculous amounts of them. Simple. The time of day you consume food at all has no effect on weight gain. I think this one might give birth to the uncomfortable feeling of going to sleep and lying in full belly. While it may make you feel a bit uncomfortable and gassy, it won't make you gain weight.

2. Chewing gum accelerates weight loss


Chewing gum sends signals to the brain that you are eating. For some people, this can trick you into feeling fuller, but, for others, it can improve hunger and make you want to eat more. Tricking your brain into a full feeling can result in you actually consuming fewer calories, which leads to weight loss. However, chewing gum will not magically melt fat, it is still all about calorie intake.

3. Eating Grapefruit Melts Fat


Grapefruits contain huge vitamin loads, including vitamin A, vitamin C, B1, B5 and fibers that aid digestion. However, the meta-analysis of three randomized trials controlled on the effect of eating oranges on weight did not find changes in body weight compared to the controls. While oranges, like with other fruits, are great for you and your precious snacks, your fats won't magically melt while eating it.

4. You have to cut all the food ' naughty ' to lose weight


We need to get out of this mentality that the food is ' good ' and ' bad. In fact there are just a lot more nutritious foods and less nutritional-dense foods. You don't have to cut all the food you love and consume only steamed fish and vegetables. Honestly, it's not realistic and makes you more likely to crack and get back to bad eating habits. Enjoy treating your loved one but just enjoy it in moderation. As long as they fit in your daily goals and you remain in calorie deficits, you will still lose weight in the long run.

5. Fat makes you fat


False. The recent popularity of the Ketogenic Diet has begun to explain some light on this issue. Healthy fats like avocado and olive oil can help keep you satiety for longer. It will get you off towards a snack closet. Fats also help in the absorption of vitamins and nutrients in foods. At the peak of fat-phobia, so many companies are launching low-fat and fat-free versions of products like yogurt. However, this product is substituted fat with tons of sugar, making this ' fat-free ' version arguably less healthy than the original version.
